Special Adviser to the President/CEO of Dangote Group
Engineer Mansur Ahmed, OFR, currently serves as a Special Adviser to the President/CEO of Dangote Group. He retired in 2023 after a decade as a Group Executive Director at Dangote, where he focused on government and strategic relations. His distinguished 40-year career spans major roles across Nigeria's public sector, private industry, academia, and NGOs. An alumnus of Nottingham and Cranfield Universities, he began his career at Ahmadu Bello University before moving into industry, notably holding senior leadership positions in refinery operations at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Engineer Ahmed has made significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic policy and regulatory environment. In 2003, he served as the Director General of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), where he drove crucial economic policy reform. He then became a pioneer in establishing Nigeria's Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC). His influence extends regionally, as he has been heavily involved in initiatives supporting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). His dedication to manufacturing and quality governance is extensive. He is the immediate past President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and currently serves as the Interim President of the Pan-African Manufacturers Association. Additionally, he is a member of the Africa Quality Policy Council and is recognized as an Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), reflecting his distinguished service.
