Former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA)
Osafohene Dr. Afua Asabea Asare is a strategic leader with expertise in Integrated Communications, Organisational Development, and International Trade. Until her retirement in February 2025, she served as CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), where she applied over 30 years of management experience to strengthen Ghana’s non-traditional export sector. Under her leadership, GEPA achieved a historic 11% growth in export performance. During her tenure, she introduced interventions that linked export development with Ghana’s creative and cultural economy. She upgraded regional Art and Craft Villages into exhibition-ready centers and initiated the “Sound Out” art exhibition, promoting Ghanaian artists and crafts to international audiences. Her work reflected a commitment to community empowerment and creative industry development. Post-retirement, Dr. Asare continues to engage in art and design from her home studio while contributing to leadership, entrepreneurship, and trade education. She serves on several academic and corporate boards and has received multiple awards recognizing her public service and leadership impact. She also lectures and serves as an Executive Doctor in Residence at the Nobel International Business School, Ghana.
