Director, Government Affairs Microsoft West Africa
Nonye Ujam is the Director of Government Affairs for Microsoft West Africa, where she leads engagement with governments and regulators on digital transformation, AI policy, and technology adoption. She previously worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria and served as Technical Adviser on the Sustainable Development Goals to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, gaining hands-on experience in policy design and development finance. At Microsoft, she drives partnerships and policy initiatives that promote digital inclusion, data protection, and innovation. She has contributed to national discussions on Nigeria’s Digital ID (ID4D) program and regional forums on AI governance, digital identity, and cybersecurity. Her work also supports digital skills training and e-governance initiatives across West Africa. Ms. Ujam received Harvard’s Dean’s Prize for Outstanding ALM Capstone for her research on access to basic education. She is widely recognized for her leadership in digital policy and continues to advocate for inclusive, transparent, and accountable technology growth in Africa.
